Aldershot Branch Reopening Update

Aldershot Branch has been temporarily closed due to water damage from a fire in one of the building’s residential units. Currently, crews are continuing their assessment of the damage and planning repairs. Burlington Public Library is a tenant of the building, and we are working closely with the building owner, Halton Region and City of Burlington for the clean-up and repairs. The clean up has been a team effort, and we’re grateful for everyone involved.

Branch Reopening

Aldershot Branch will temporarily reopen starting Friday, February 21 at 10am with limited service.

The branch will need to close again in the coming weeks to complete the repair work. We will update Library customers on future closures through our website and social media channels.

What’s Available at Aldershot Branch

The following services will be available at the branch:

  • Holds pick-up
  • Browsing
  • Wi-Fi
  • Computers

Library programs at Aldershot Branch have been cancelled for February and March. Due to space limitations, the program room must be used for storage during repairs.

For Customers with Holds at Aldershot Branch

Fortunately, the water caused minimal damage to the books. Library staff will be communicating directly with customers whose holds were affected.

We have extended pick-up for holds that expired during the closure. If your item was due for pick-up during the closure and you were not contacted about a damaged hold, it will be available for pick-up when we reopen on Friday, February 21 at 10am. You will have seven days to pick up your item.
