Due to annual facility maintenance on Monday, March 23, staff will not be able to access the storage room containing the Outdoor Play collection.
Customers can still return their borrowed Outdoor Play items to Alton Branch during this period.
We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Battery Recycling Collection Ending
Community battery recycling collection at Burlington Public Library branches will end on Wednesday, March 25.
This change comes after our recycling partner advised that the service will no longer be available at no cost. After careful consideration, we decided to discontinue the program. Battery collection requires specific handling, storage, and safety measures, and we are unable to continue offering this service safely with the resources we have available.
Where to Recycle Batteries
You can still recycle household batteries at several local retail locations, including:
- Staples
- Canadian Tire
- Home Depot
- Rona
- IKEA
- Fortinos
- Longo’s
Thank you for helping keep batteries out of landfill by using these alternative drop-off options.
