×Online Services UNAVAILABLE | Tue June 23, 8am-1pm
Due to a library system upgrade, online services will be unavailable from approximately 8am to 1pm on Tuesday, June 23.
During this period, you will not be able to access:
- The online catalogue
- Your My BPL online account (to place holds, renew items, etc.)
- Online services that require your library card number and PIN to use, such as free room booking, and maker equipment booking
- Online resources that require your library card number and PIN to use, such as OverDrive/Libby, Hoopla, Kanopy, and LinkedIn Learning
- Online program registration using your library card number or your My Event account
- Automated telephone renewal

Online Service Disruption | Thu June 25, 12-4am
Due to planned COGECO maintenance, BPL’s online services will be unavailable for about 45 minutes sometime between midnight and 4am on Thursday, June 25.
During this period, you will not be able to access:
- The library's website and Internet access
- BPL's online catalogue and your My BPL account (to place holds, renew items, etc.)
- Online program registration, free space booking, and maker equipment booking
- Any online services or resources that require your library card number and PIN to use, such as digital resources like OverDrive/Libby, Hoopla, Kanopy, and LinkedIn Learning
- Automated telephone renewal

Driveway/North Entry CLOSURE | New Appleby
As part of the continuing exterior concrete repair work, the driveway and parking lot entrance on the North side of Robert Bateman Community Centre will be closed to all vehicle traffic from Wednesday, June 17, through Monday, June 22.
The rear parking lot will still be accessible from the pool side of the building.

CANCELLED Mother Goose & Baby Play | June 25
Unfortunately, Mother Goose & Baby Play and Chat at New Appleby Branch is cancelled on Thursday, June 25, 2-4pm.

Brant Hills Branch Closed, June 1 to July 5
The City is replacing the roof, HVAC, and lighting system in the building. The ceiling must be opened for this work, so the branch must close for that portion of the project. Brant Hills Branch is closed from June 1 to July 5 and will reopen July 6.
Important Dates
- May 20: Last day to place holds for pickup at Brant Hills Branch; last day for branch programs.
- May 31 to July 6: Brant Hills Branch book drops are closed.
- May 31: Last open day at Brant Hills Branch.
- June 1: Brant Hills Branch is closed.
- July 6: Planned reopening of Brant Hills Branch.
Nearest Open Locations
The nearest full-service branches are Tansley Woods Branch (1996 Itabashi Way) and Alton Branch (3040 Tim Dobbie Drive).
Returning Your Loans
Brant Hills Branch book drops will not be available during the closure. You can return your items to any other BPL location or hold onto your items until the branch reopens. If you have difficulty returning items to another library location, please call us at 905.639.3611 or use our Contact Us form for help.
Items on Hold
Unless you have changed your holds pick-up location, all Brant Hills customer holds will be paused during the closure and will automatically become active when the branch reopens. If you have an item on hold with a pick-up date that expires while the branch is closed, it will be paused until the branch reopens.
Pop-Up Programs
Regularly scheduled programs will not run during the closure, but we are offering two special programs for kids and families. Don’t forget to sign up for the Summer Reading Club while you’re here!
Family STEAM Time
- Dates & Times: Mondays, June 1 to June 29, 6-8pm
- Location: Mountainside Recreation Centre, Community Room 2, 2205 Mt Forest Drive, Burlington
Create, invent, and explore together with Miss Jamie through hands-on STEAM activities and imaginative loose parts play. Bring the whole family for an evening of creativity, curiosity, and fun.
Outdoor Family Storytime
- Dates & Times: Wednesdays, June 3 to June 24, 10-11am
- Location: Brant Hills Park, D1, behind the library
Read, write, talk, sing and play along with us at Family Storytime—OUTSIDE! Perfect for children ages 5 and younger and their grown-ups.
