Board Games
Board games are free to borrow with your BPL card. You will find easy-to-pick-up-and-play games for families and groups of varying experience levels, games for younger children, and complex strategy games to appeal to a variety of gameplay preferences.

- Loan period: 7 days
- You can borrow up to one board game at a time and have one board game on hold in your library account at any one time.
- You can renew your loan up to three times, as long as no one is waiting for it.
Games are popular and which may result in missing pieces. If you come across a puzzle with missing pieces, please make a note of the number of missing pieces on the card inside the puzzle container. Please do your best to return all the puzzle pieces.
Jigsaw Puzzles
Burlington Public Library has over 50 different jigsaw puzzles available to borrow with your BPL card number. Our collection includes children’s floor and table puzzles, Family puzzles with different-sized pieces so beginners and experts can work together, and easy-handling puzzles with large pieces. We carry 500-, 1000-, and 2000-piece puzzles.

- Loan period: 3 weeks
- You can borrow up to 2 puzzles at a time and place 10 holds.
- A puzzle can be renewed unless there is a hold on it.

Outdoor Play Collection
Formerly the City of Burlington Play Equipment Lending Library. The BPL Outdoor Play collection is housed at Alton Branch.
- All borrowers must read the Outdoor Play Collection Terms & Conditions before borrowing an item from this collection.
- Items must be borrowed and returned in person to a library staff member at Alton Branch.
- To avoid accidental damage, do not return in a drop box or return slot. Staff will check for damage and ensure items are in good working condition.
- Outdoor play equipment is free to borrow with your Burlington Public Library card. No deposit is required.
- The equipment is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Customers can view equipment availability information in the online catalogue, but cannot place a hold or book items in advance, either online or by calling the branch.
The new Outdoor Play collection includes a wide variety of equipment for activities such as pickleball, croquet, badminton, and family-friendly games like giant Jenga and ladder ball. With the BPL Outdoor Play collection launching during the snowy season, only winter equipment is available to borrow initially, with summer equipment becoming available in spring 2026.
