Upcoming Changes to Room Rentals at BPL

Burlington Public Library provides space for rent at six of our library branches. Whether you’re hosting a meeting, workshop, or presentation, we offer affordable rentable space for a variety of needs.

Beginning January 6, 2025, changes will come into effect for Burlington Public Library’s updated Room Rental Policy. Here’s an overview of some changes you can expect.

Easier to Find Room Rental Rules

Our updated room rental Terms and Conditions provide all requirements for room renters in one convenient place. This helps make it easier to understand roles and responsibilities when deciding to rent space at the Library.

More Options for Your Rental

All rooms are rented for a minimum of one hour except for Centennial Hall at Central, which requires a minimum of four hours. After the minimum time, you will soon be able to rent rooms in 30-minute increments, instead of one-hour blocks. Rooms can be requested through our easy to use online booking system.

Renting Centennial Hall

Centennial Hall is BPL’s event space at Central Branch, with seating for up to 120 people. When requesting a rental, you will soon see additional questions on the online form to help us better understand your rental needs.

Fee Changes

Room rental rates and associated fees will increase 5% on most rooms booked on January 6 and after. Centennial Hall rates will increase by 10%. BPL’s room rental increases are based on the City of Burlington 2025 budget guidance for increases in user fees.

These new changes aim to make it easier for you to know what you need to do when renting space at the Library. To rent a room, visit our online booking system
