New Appleby Branch Relocation Update – Winter 2025
With soaring ceilings, sun-drenched spaces, and endless shelves of books waiting to be explored, this stunning new location will be a vibrant hub for reading, learning, and gathering. Nestled within the new Robert Bateman Community Centre at 5151 New Street, it will offer cozy seating, dynamic programs, and plenty of room to spark your curiosity. Facility construction, led by the City of Burlington, is well underway, and we can’t wait to welcome you when the doors open in Fall 2025!
Sneak Peek!
A few Burlington Public Library staff recently visited the site of the new branch to see the construction progress.
“Our current New Appleby Branch has been a cornerstone of the community for 40 years, and while I'll miss it, I’m so looking forward to welcoming everyone to our new, bigger, and brighter space,” says James Dekens, Manager of Neighbourhood Branches. “I can't wait to share this experience with everyone.”

Produce your own podcast! The new New Appleby Branch will be home to BPL’s first digital media studio where you can record and edit your own video and audio projects.

James and his team are excited to embark on this next chapter with their valued customers—and to welcome new ones to discover all that New Appleby Branch has to offer.
