Your contribution helps us grow our children’s book and tech collections, fund free programs that ignite a passion for reading, science, and art, and create welcoming library spaces with engaging toys, furnishings, and technology.
The Joy of Giving
Shopping for someone who has everything? Honour their love of books and learning with a truly meaningful gift—a donation to the Kids Learning Fund. Your contribution in their name is a gift that keeps giving—benefiting tens of thousands of children every year.
In the past year, we had over 3.3 million visits to our library branches and online services, many of those from families and kids. Each library visit is an opportunity for your gift to help spark curiosity, nurture connections, and provide a safe haven for kids to play and grow.
A $30 donation can purchase up to four books for our children's collection. A $100 donation can buy supplies for a STEAM or literacy programming session. And a $200 donation can help replace aging play equipment.

How to Donate to the Kids Learning Fund
You can make an online donation directly to the Kids Learning Fund through our Canada Helps donation form below. Donors immediately receive a receipt by email. Tax receipts are provided for all donations over $20.
You can also visit your nearest branch to make a cash or card donation in person with a BPL staff member. We will issue a tax receipt for an in-person contribution over $20. Be sure to pick up a donor postcard, available at any branch, to include in a holiday card for someone you’ve donated in honour of.

All proceeds from BPL tote bag sales in December support our Kids Learning Fund. Our sturdy canvas tote bags make a great gift for the book lovers in your life. You can purchase tote bags at any of our branches.
