Aldershot Branch Temporary Closure
Aldershot Branch will close temporarily from Sunday, May 4, to Sunday, June 1, for repairs following the water damage that occurred earlier this year.
We’re working hard to make sure you can still enjoy library services without minimal disruption. Here’s what you need to know.
Closest Branch
During the closure, the closest library branch with full service is Central Branch, located at 2331 New Street. It includes all services available at Aldershot Branch, and more.
Placing & Picking Up Holds
Please pick up any holds that are waiting for you at Aldershot Branch before Saturday, May 3, 5pm.
If you have holds with Aldershot Branch as your preferred pick-up location, they will be paused, and you will keep your place on the waitlist until reopening. However, at any point before or during the closure, you can change the pick-up location of your “not ready for pickup” holds or pause your holds. You can do this online by logging into your MyBPL account using the yellow button at the top of our website. If you need help updating your pickup location, please contact us using our web contact form or give us a call at 905.639.3611. Our staff are happy to assist!
If you place a new hold or resume a paused hold during the closure, you will need to select a different pick-up location: Aldershot Branch will be temporarily unavailable as a holds pick-up option in our catalogue starting April 23.
Returning Items
Please do not return items to Aldershot Branch from May 4 to June 1. The outdoor book drop will be closed. Due dates for items checked out at Aldershot will be extended until after reopening.
You can return your items to any other BPL location. If you have any difficulty returning items to another library location, please speak with staff for help or return your items to Aldershot Branch when it reopens
Family Storytime
Family Storytime will take place every Tuesday in May from 10:30 to 11:30am, in the community room at Aldershot Pool, located at 50 Fairwood Place West. We’d love to see you there!
All other branch programs are cancelled during the closure.

Important Dates
April 22: Aldershot Branch is temporarily removed as a holds pickup option in the catalogue.
May 3: Final day to pick up your ready holds at Aldershot Branch before closure.
May 4 to June 1: Aldershot Branch and the exterior book return slot are closed.
Tuesdays, May 6, 13, 20, & 27: Family Storytime running at Aldershot Pool community room.
June 2: Aldershot Branch is scheduled to reopen for full service.
