Changes to Community Access Passes

We’re making some changes to how you borrow Community Access Passes to ensure everyone gets a chance to enjoy them. Starting February 3, 2025, passes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at our branches.

To get ready for this transition, Community Access Passes will be temporarily unavailable throughout January 2025.

Although customers will not be able to reserve a pass by calling ahead or placing a hold in the catalogue, you will be able to check online for current availability—here’s how you can do this:

  1. Type "Community Access Pass" in the Search box at the top of the library’s website home page or online catalogue.
  2. Select the menu option to "Filter your results by… Available Now"

The availability of passes can change quickly as customers borrow and return them throughout the day. While the catalogue may show a pass as "available," we can’t guarantee it will still be there when you visit the branch.

Community access passes will continue to have a 7-day loan period. The passes will not be renewable or valid for special events hosted by the participating organizations. The Library’s fees and charges apply to community access passes.

As always, we are grateful to customers for returning passes on time so that others may enjoy free general admission entry to various local and provincial cultural and tourism destinations.

We know how popular our passes are, and we believe this updated lending model will benefit our community. Thank you for your patience as we prepare to bring you a better borrowing experience!
