Canadians head to the polls on Monday, April 28 for the 45th general election. Here’s a summary of what you need to know about voting in the federal election.
There are two federal ridings serving Burlington residents:
Burlington
Burlington North—Milton West
Check if you are registered to vote in Canada online or call Elections Canada at 1.800.463.6868. If you are already registered on the list of electors, you should get a voter information card in the mail by April 11. It tells you where and when you can vote, and what identification to bring with you.
Be Alert to Voter Scams
Elections Canada never texts or calls you about where and when to vote. They never share your phone number with political parties. If you see something that says it's from Elections Canada and you want to confirm that it's really from them, call 1.800.463.6868 or contact them online.
