Every year the Library receives generous financial contributions from people in our community. Each gift enables so many others to explore and enjoy words, music, and visuals.
Ways You Can Contribute
Burlington Public Library is a registered charitable organization that gratefully accepts donations from individuals, groups, and organizations. You can donate online through Canada Helps or at any of our branches by debit, credit, cash, or cheque. We provide tax receipts for donations larger than $20 CAD.

We have five different funds where your donation can make an immediate impact.
Pay It Forward
We no longer charge daily late fines, but we know that things happen. If you miss a due date, consider a monetary donation of any amount to our Pay it Forward fund. This fund helps grow our collection so we can reduce wait times for popular items and purchase a wider variety of materials.
Kids Learning Fund
Grow literacy in all its forms by donating to this fund. Our Kids Learning Fund supports literacy and STEAM programming, our children's collection, and upgrades to our children's areas.
Think Big for Burlington
Support the advancement of BPL’s Strategic Plan and objectives so our library can continue to help Burlington thrive. This fund supports innovation-related projects.
Preserve Our History
We play an important role in preserving Burlington's history, and you can too! This funds digitization and local history initiatives so more people can learn about our community's heritage.
Honour With Books
Celebrate someone who loved to read. Honour the memory of a friend, relative, colleague, or group by augmenting the library’s collection.
Sponsor a Library Initiative
BPL welcomes support through sponsorship opportunities to help enhance spaces, technology and programs across the Library’s six full-service branches and one rural lending location.

Leave a Legacy for Literacy
Burlington Public Library deeply appreciates the ongoing generosity of those who have gifted the Library in perpetuity through their bequests. By including BPL in your estate planning, you are supporting literacy for generations to come. Our endowment funds are administered by Burlington Foundation.
