BPL Staff Book Reviews
Looking for a great book to read? Wondering whether a new book
you've heard about is one you'd enjoy? Burlington Public Library's
Children's Services staff have reviewed hundreds of books, and they're
all right here!
All of our reviews are now linked into the library catalogue, so
you can see immediately whether a book is available, or place a
hold on it! (Note: in most cases, we have tried to link to
all available versions of a title (for example, hard-cover, paperback,
and book-on-tape. Occasionally, this means that a book with the
same title but by a different author will be included with the results,
so please check both title and author before you place a hold! And
sometimes it is just not possible to include all versions of a title
in a single link, so if it appears that all copies of a book are
checked out, try searching the catalogue to see if any other editions
are available.)
Our reviews are divided into two sections: Early Chapter Books,
which are at approximately a grade 2 to 4 reading level, and Fiction,
which is generally at a grade 4 or higher reading level. Early Chapter
books can be recognized in the library because they are marked with
a yellow tape on the spine, and their reviews are indicated with
a .
